Djokovic vs Shapovalov (By: StarLion)

ATP Paris Final: Novak Djokovic (1) vs Denis Shapovalov (28)

Denis Shapovalov picked his game up since a month or two (dating back to the Winston-Salem tourney) and is playing impeccable tennis. The tennis he displayed in the Sweden Open he recently won was top class.

He has carried his good form here, reaching a Masters Finals with a little bit luck of Nadal retiring. He did beat Monfils, Zverev and Fognini on the way, and in convincing fashion.

Novak Djokovic did play one his worst matches of the year in his 7-6, 6-4 win over Moutet. But that's Djokovic, winning matches in spite of playing poorly. Dimitrov went toe to toe with Djokovic in the semis, and Dimitrov led 5-3 (at 6-6) in the 1st set tie break yet managed to lose that set. For me, these ice-cold nerves and composure of Djokovic make him the best ever in tie-breaks. Even Federer couldn't keep up in Wimbledon.

This is a tough match to predict pre-match. Djokovic leads the H2H 3-1, Shapovalov's win coming in an exhibition. I think Djokovic can win it 6-3, 6-4 or even 6-1, 6-2 if he gets going. If the Canadian puts up a fight, maybe a 6-4, 7-5 victory for Djokovic.

The best possible outcome for me is no tie break in the match.

Also do note, Djokovic was mentally prepared to face Nadal and consolidate his Number 1 rank which he dearly loves. So Nole should have this much easier cause I think by raising his game, high enough to face Nadal will put him on a class above Shapo.

Under 9.5 Games in the first set @ 2.10 is a very good bet too (If you believe Nole is smashing)

This match will be something what Satopalov wiil remember for his all life. I supose that Canadian will be hardly defeted with diference of -5 or -6 games.

Djoko is not that great atm and the only game without a tiebreak was the one against Tsitsi.
Tsitsi had it coming after his win in Shangai and i guess he couldn't sleep the previous night cause he was shouting sth like (you take) melatonin, you are a zombie malaka (to himself).
I will go with Djoko to drop his first set, maybe in possible a tiebreak.

He faced all chokers on this tour. The kid today had like what, 8-10% second serve? Let's request an Amber Alert for Shapovalov's second serve 😂
