Zwolle vs Groningen by DamirJ
Zwolle is coming from a 0:2 defeat on the road, this time to Feyenoord. The defeat was expected, second in a row that saw them being second from the bottom, remaining winless from the start of the season with only two scored goals.
In their previous game, Feyenoord was in complete control of the game, from the start of the match. However, the guests had their opportunity near the end of the first halftime, but were outplayed and deserved the 2:0 loss overall. After the game, the coach admitted that inexperience is one of the problems for his team and that the remaining part of the season will be similar to fighting with lions for them, however he is positive that the team will bounce back with more positive results sooner or later.
Central defender Joey van den Berg is returning to the starting lineup, while right back Gravenbeek remain sidelined just as team captain and central midfielder Arne Slot who will be unavailable for next few weeks more.
Groningen, on the other side, is coming from a 0:3 loss at home to in-form Vitesse. The game itself was quite weird for them, as they had a man more from 30th minute of the game when a central defender from Vitesse got a red card for a crucial foul. However, the team didn't manage to break and take a lead, although they had more of the possession and much more chances, but finally were outplayed by smart performance from their guests who used counter attacks as their main weapon.
The team got improved during the Summer, but obviously they need some time to start acting together and look like a real team. However, their start of the season wasn't that bad, having in mind that they had to face up against Twente and PSV early in the season, just as weird loss to Vitesse last weekend. Defender and Holland under 21 national team player Kappelhof is back in the squad after missing the previous game.
This match seems like a crucial game for the hosts who are chasing their first win this season, while the guests aren't in much better position either. However, the guests have showed much more this season and have better squad. Moreover, they do have much better h2h stats with their opponents, not losing a single game in last eleven years and should be set here at least equal to their opponents.
