Zulte vs Mechelen by Isaiah
Zulte Waregem had no particular resistance to the away game against Anderlecht and accepted the defeat with the score of 3-0. Despite the fact that their image lately is not good, they remains in the playoffs I scenarios, located only a point from sixth placed Charleroi who lost easy yesterday away to Standard Liege. Anyway, Anderlecht was better and won fairly and now Zulte has to give their best in the remaining four games in order to participate to playoffs I.
Good squad news as attacking midfielder Steve de Ridder (25 games, 4 goals) is back to the main elevel after suspension and there are no other problems except useful attacking midfielder Chuks Aneke (11 games, 2 goals). Zulte will be lined up with 4-3-3 formation as usual, Onur Kaya, Mame Thiam (8 goals) and Mbaye Leye (11 goals) will play in attack.
Mechelen is coming from an away win against St. Truiden with the score of 0:3. Although the score says for an easy game, it was not like that as they had only a 0:1 lead to the 88th minute, while St. Truiden lost also a penalty. The fact is that they took three very important points and should feel more relaxed now about relegation threats. Logically they are not in big danger at the moment, but for sure they have no time to relax there. They need to continue seriously to the four games that follow.
Main attacking midfielder Joachim van Damme (14 games, 2 goals) is surely out again who was found with forbidden substances to his blood, while Jordi Vanlerberghe (12 games) And good defensive midfielder Ibrahima Cisse (14 games) are both out with injuries. Main central defender Edin Cocalic (18 games) is back to the main eleven after injury. The attacking duo will probably be Tim Matthys (5 goals) and Nicolas Verdier (5 goals).
Maybe a key game for Zulte in their effort to return to the top six, but they are vulnerable in defense, the same goes on for Mechelen. To the first round game there were scored a total of seven goals, a same open game I expect tonight too.
