France vs Peru
France didn't look that well in the first game at the World Cup but still managed to overpower 2:1 Australia last Saturday afternoon. The side didn't dominate much and looked quite slow with the ball movement but still got what they wanted in the end.
We still can't judge them much, however the fact is that the team didn't look that positive till now. They missed more real goal scoring chances even though they did look better overall. The side took the lead from a penalty kick via Griezmann in 58th, but got leveled four minutes later via penalty kick as well (taken by Jedinak).
They did improve tempo after all and looked more attacking in the last twenty minutes, winning thanks to an own goal from Behich in 81st minute. The side now shares the first position together with Denmark and now has a great chances to make a decisive step in case of a victory here.
Giroud should lead their attack. French side should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation. Matuidi, Griezmann and Mbappe should be offensive midfielders. Right back Djibril Sidibe is doubtful for this one. Ousmane Dembele failed to make impact in previous game and could be set to bench here for the start.
Peru missed many chances in their World Cup opener against Denmark suffering narrow 1:0 defeat in the end. They are probably one of little nations that truly deserved something more out of their first match.
South Americans looked really well in the first halftime, as the Danish team only looked for their chances via counter attacks. However, the team missed penalty kick just before the halftime whistle.
Denmark broke them via counter attack and a goal from Poulsen in 59th minute, while the Peruvians continued attacking but only better realisiation in the final touch was needed in order to give really hard time to the Danish national team. No matter about the result between Australia and Denmark, this is the last chance for Peru to get involved and they simply need to seek for something here.
Peru should continue in 4-2-3-1 form with Guerrero as central striker. Carrillo, Cueva and Farfan should be his offensive support. They lost so many chances against Denmark and Guerrero now seems more than sure to start.
France didn't impress a lot in the previous round. They move the ball too slow and are definitely vulnerable at the back. Peru simply shouldn't be able to squander so many chances again. I surely have decent potential in attack and I see both teams scoring here as my first betting choice.
