Watford vs Blackpool by Neuro
Watford took an impressive 5:0 victory last weekend over Charlton at home, getting their first three pointer after two consecutive defeats. Three pointer was also very important as the team kept their play-off position for now, but at the same time narrowed the difference to third and fourth placed team that will have home advantage in the play-off rounds.
Anyhow, they finally put up a good show, where the result came in a right way, but also where they performance was at the highest level from the very beginning. Their dominance was already seen in the first halftime when the team got 3:0 thanks to goals from Cathcart, Deeney and Ighalo, while Ighalo scored once more at the start of the second half, with Toszer sealing the victory with the fifth goal in the additional time of the second half. Now, the team wants to continue with a good momentum in home matches and having in mind which opponent they welcome - it seems that it won't be much of the trouble for them to get the three pointer. Odion Ighalo could start ahead of Matej Vydra again, having scored two goals last weekend, while the hosts have only one actual absentee as central defender Gabriel Tamas (7/0) remains sidelined with long term injury.
Blackpool was defending for the most of the game last weekend and they did it in quite a good fashion, but still found themselves with empty hands following a 2:0 defeat away to Wolverhampton. As said, they were defending for the whole game, but conceded two goals in last six minutes of the match - totally deservedly this time.
Edwards scored the opening goal in 86th minute to get the hosts into the lead after so many missed chances and so much more of the ball possession, while the game got more opened since then and it was easy for the hosts to net another one, via Afobe in last moments of the match. With this result Blackpool continued their winless streak away from home, having 0-5-8 so far on the road, but also continued being at the rock bottom position with nine points away from the safe zone. Biggest problem remains in offense where the team simply seems like not knowing how to score a goal, being close to break all the negative records of the Championship with nineteen goals scored till now. They loaned Islam Feruz from Chelsea and he could make his debut, but duo of Chris Eagles and Tom Kennedy have left this week.
Everything points out to an easy victory of Watford here, or better to say, yet another defeat of Blackpool on the road without a goal scored. Hosts shouldn't blow up this chance as they come into the game with improved morale and fired up to get the easy victory.
