Walsall vs Coventry by Luke
Walsall didn't look well last time out, as the side suffered 2:0 defeat on the road against Wigan in eleventh round of League One on Saturday afternoon. They weren't expected to get something out of the match, but the team was really limited to a passive role and couldn't do many important things in offense.
On the other side, players of Wigan looked way better and more dominant, scoring a goal via Grigg in each halftime, second one from penalty for completely deserved and expected victory overall. This was their first defeat after four official matches, as the side continues to be in the second part of the table, at the moment at thirteenth position, with four points more than relegating worried sides. They are playing way better at home and need to get something here in order to stay competition for the knockout stage. Rotation is surely expected.
Coventry, on the other side, comes from a narrow, expected and pretty much deserved victory at home over Crewe last Saturday afternoon in latest League Two round. They entered well into the match and scored the goal in ninth minute already via Nazon, lowering down the tempo as the game progressed and being satisfied with such result.
Crewe looked quite unimpressive during the match and there wasn't much of problems to seal the victory for the hosts. Coventry is now having three consecutive victories in League One and have climbed up to fourth position at the table, recovering well after poor start. They are just three points behind leading duo from Notts County and Exeter and surely looking at league as much more important competition. Rotation in their team is also expected.
Both teams will rotate the players for this one and even though the home team remains as slight favorite here, I wouldn't overwrite in-form Coventry that easily. They are more than capable of scoring a goal(s) here and shouldn't have defensive approach to the game. Same should be said for Walsall, side that anyway plays much better in front of own crowd and should appear attacking here.
