Walsall vs Bury by Shibby
SkyBet League One for me due to the International break. I'm still rather happy though as I see some good value in this bet. The game I'll be betting on is between Walsall and Bury, the game will be played at The Bank's Stadium, West Midlands with a kick off time of 15:00.
The hosts are slight favourites for this game, however, they look head and shoulders above their opponents for the game. I thought the odds would have been shorter with Walsall being top of the league, however, they're not. As I said, Walsall are currently top of League One with 13 points from their first 5 games. They drew their first game 1-1 at home to Oldham, however, since the opening day they seem to have found their form and head into tomorrow's clash (05/09/2015) in fine form. They've won their last 4 league games 3 away from home and one at home.
Their last fixture was a 4-0 thumping of bottom club, Blackpool. Prior to that they've beat some strong teams in Coventry, Rochdale and Southend (2 clubs from the top 6 places in the league). They have a fully fit squad to choose from so I don't expect any changes from the side that beat Blackpool. The only one maybe is that new signing Osbourne may play a part. They did lose a cup game on 01/09/2015 to League Two side, Morecambe, however, I'm sure the gaffer would have preferred to go out so they can focus on their league form.
The visitors for the game are new to League One having gained promotion from League Two last season. Their form this season hasn't been too bad to be fair, they've lost just once vs Fleetwood 4-3. The other 4 games they've played have all ended in draws. The difference between the two clubs is that I think Walsall have played tougher opponents thus far and still sit in top spot. Bury have played teams in and around them and haven't really come up against a great team. Bury are only 1 point above the relegation places in 17th. Bury have a few injury concerns as Etuhu, Clarke and Nardiello are all out.
I was going to play safe and protect the draw, however, the odds aren't great (1.57 with Walsall DNB). So therefore, I'll take a risk and back a straight Walsall victory at a massive 2.30 with William Hill. Good luck all.
