VVV Venlo vs PSV by Neuro
VVV Venlo is coming from a Cup game where they lost to second league team Go Ahead Eagles on the road after taking penalty shot outs in more than a interesting game. They took the 2:0 lead in the first half-time and everything was pointing out to their easy progress in the next stage, however they conceded two goals in three minutes (from 68th to 71st minute) and then, were even lucky not to lose in ninety minutes.
Then, after ninety minutes Venlo took the lead once again, just to find them losing 4:3 once again just two minutes before the end of the extra time. However, Nwofor scored the eight goal in the game just to send them to penalty shout where they have finally lost. Although they had a perfect chance to get the first win in this season, they have lost once again having not win since May this year. They are currently at 16th position with only one point above the rock bottom place.
Right back Ammi is doubtful for this game, just as defensive midfielder Altheer who came this Summer in the club. Still, midfielders Maguire and Reimerink are long term injuries.
PSV, on the other hand, got a 3:2 victory away to Achilles, amateurish team, to progress to the next round of the Dutch Cup. Big favorites didn't enter the game that well at found themselves conceding the goal early in the game, but found a way to score three goals in the first half-time and even missed the penalty in 64th minute. Later on, they conceded the goal but didn't jeopardize their progression later on.
Of course, they used the mixed team and it's not a surprise they had some problems during the game. Anyway, they are doing well in the league, apart from the losses on the road to Utrecht and RKC. They are having a very strong team for their league, but still didn't find their form and overall are yet to impress this season. Left back Pieters and defensive midfielder Jorgensen continue to be the only absent players for the guests, while van Bommel has served his suspension and is back in the team.
With experienced van Bommel back in the team PSV will get much needed balance between attack and defensive line-up and they are expected to continue on their good form from last weekend when they defeated Feyenoord 3:0. All they need is not to underestimate their hosts, which surely shouldn't happen after two losses this season on the road.
