Villarreal vs Osasuna by Jimeno
Villarreal couldn't probably do more in their 1:1 draw away from home on Wednesday evening against Real Madrid, but everyone in the club will be happy that the team managed to return without losing such a game. After five rounds played, Villarreal currently stands at sixth position with four points less than leaders from Real Madrid, but still remaining undefeated with two victories and three draws for now in not that easy schedule for them for now.
Real Madrid had more of the ball possession, but the players of Villarreal managed to defend themselves well in the first halftime, taking the lead from a penalty spot in 45th minute scored by Bruno, while even though Ramos managed to level up the result three minutes into the second halftime, home side didn't manage to exploit the possession and chances they created later on. As for Villarreal, the team now comes back to their own turf and no doubt that the victory is their only target now, as the team is known for performing way better in front of own fans.
Hosts should be playing in 4-4-2 formation with Sansone and Pato as strikers. Offensive midfielder Cedric Bakambu and forward Roberto Soldado are both sidelined with injuries from the start of the season. No big surprises are expected in the team of Fran Escriba.
Osasuna suffered yet another defeat last Thursday evening when the team welcomed Espanyol and stood defeated with a 1:2 result. However, it needs to be said that the players of Osasuna deserved much more during in this game, since they were way better and controlled the ball for ninety minutes, also created way more chances than the visiting side.
However, players of Espanyol were oriented on defensive approach and fast counter-attacks, which completely paid out for them this time. They took the lead in 42nd minute with a goal from Baptistao, while Leon leveled up the result in 68th minute. When everyone thought they will be now searching for whole three points, Espanyol responded four minutes later with a goal from Moreno and the home team was unable to react further on. Osasuna now stands at the bottom of the table with just two points earned and has no time to wait for, knowing that they can't walk away with something away to Villarreal in case they only defend.
Visitors are set to be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Leon as their central striker, plus Romero, Torres and Cuevas as offensive midfielders. Midfielder Didier Digard is sidelined from the start of the season, but also absent for this match are: right defender Javier Flano (2/0), midfielder Fausto (2/0) and most likely central defender Miguel Flano (3/0) who still has some chances of recovering in time.
- Villarreal are undefeated in their last 5 matches (La Liga).
Villarreal are undefeated since the start of LaLiga and the team remains favorite here. I believe we should see goals as well, since the defensive lineup of Osasuna is nowhere to be trusted. At the same time, the team acts as a bit more offensive than what we used to see from them in the previous seasons.
