Villarreal vs Cordoba by Sunshine
Villarreal continued their Segunda race with a draw away from home to Las Palmas 2:2. It wasn't their best performance this season as they looked completely out of the game at some moments and only individual quality of their players kept them alive in the game just like in many previous matches.
Anyway, even if they don't look like a team nor playing fluently in attack, they still make good results and are finding themselves second at the table with four wins and two draws, being alongside league leaders from Elche the only undefeated team this season. It seems that as long as they have Mellberg, Senna and Cavenaghi in their team, there is nothing to worry about for them.
Hosts will have to do today without strikers Bordas and Rossi which won't have any impact on their display as they didn't play much this season with Rossi not having played at all. On contrary, missing defensive Senna might bring some difficulties in their performance.
Cordoba, on the other hand, is coming from a tough game against Girona last weekend, with a deserved 2:0 victory at home. Fairly deserved victory saw them being at the middle of the table with eight point, mid-table position that is surely an objective target for them this season.
It was probably the toughest earned victory for them as they had to play with a man less from 40th minute as defender Tena got red-carded. Although they went at the half-time goalless, the things didn't look for them that well following exclusion, but the second half-time was rather equal with the hosts being more determined in the last part. This was their first win after four matches, but they will have to work much more in order to stay at the middle of the table. Tonight, they will have to go out and play without two important defenders, suspended Tena and captain Gaspar, both central defenders.
The hosts might not have an very easy task defeating solid Cordoba, but as long as they have individual quality for Primera and meanwhile the guests being without their two most important central defenders this should be a home win.
