Tranmere vs North Ferriby by Luke

Tranmere had a very good performance last Saturday evening when the team easily won all three points away to Solihull, without being in need to shot their truly best. Guests were dominating the field and the ball from the first minute and managed to open the scoreline in 17th minute with a goal from Kirby.

Same player increased to 2:0 in 81st minute, while it was easy for the players of Tranmere to score once again, in 90th minute via Norwood, once the home team opened up in order to impress at least. This was second consecutive victory for Tranmere, as the team previously won over Wrexham 2:0, as they now stand at third position together with Lincoln City, having six points less than leaders from Forest Green and a point more than out of play-off placed Macclesfield, situation that puts them in a must win situation here. Central defender Michael Ihiekwe is available again after sitting out the previous game due suspension.

North Ferriby, on the other side, showed very little this season and now there are no doubts that the team will be having huge problems staying alive in the relegation battle. Still, they are currently at 22nd position, having a point more than rock bottom placed Guisley, but also three less than safely placed side Woking.

Probably more worrying that their 3-1-12 record is the fact that the team has scored only six goals in sixteen matches, arguably by far the lowest number of scored goals in the league. Also, the team is on a run of seven consecutive defeats, scoring only once in last seven matches, which puts them in a really difficult situation in front of the match and surely far away from a perfect atmosphere inside the locker room. In the most recent game, they suffered narrow 1:0 defeat away to modest Boreham Wood last weekend.

Tranmere is in a must win situation ahead of this match and having in mind their quality, the team should have no problems winning with ease against one of the weakest sides in the league. North Ferriby is simply nowhere near their quality. Everything except very easy victory for the hosts against completely out of form visitors will be huge surprise in my eyes.
