Tours vs Amiens by Isaiah
Tours is entering this game from a very clear 2:0 victory over Laval, more importantly fairly deserved. Players of Tours confirmed that they are in a really good form, getting the victory in second half-time, when the visitors finally failed to resist to persistent attacks of the home side. Laval, on the other side, was pretty much passive and didn't create anything special within ninety minutes.
After this victory, the team completed a streak of five matches without defeat, while their atmosphere in the locker room can't be any higher. They have just two defeats in the league and are in second position, only two points away from league leaders from Metz. Confidence of the players is soaring at the moment as everyone understands that the promotion to the League 1 can be reality in case the team continues like this. Their first target is promotion, but also great opportunity is today in front of them, as the team plays at home against a side from a lower division for a spot in quarter-finals of League Cup competition.
Only absentee for tonight's game will be important defender Fontaine (12/0), however the team isn't expected to defend a lot today and his absence shouldn't be obvious on the pitch. The team has prepared for this game in the best possible conditions, while the coach might rest couple of players.
Amiens, on the other side, is in quite a tragic situation at the moment. They have barely avoided home defeat last weekend against Strasbourg, as the team managed to tie the score to 1:1 four minutes before the full time whistle. Once again the team played poor football and the only positive side is that they managed to save something from the match this time against obviously superior side.
Atmosphere in their locker room is really bad right now, as the team didn't win in last six matches in the league, having 0-2-4 record. Furthermore, they are ranked second from the bottom with only one win in ten matches and are already four points away from the safe zone. Simply, it's too little for a team that was looking for a promotion this season. Even the change of the coach didn't bring anything new for them, while the highlight of the season was win over Le Havre in previous League Cup round away from home. However now, it seems that the team doesn't care much for today's game, as their next game against Vannes is pretty much critical for them, while the coach is expected to rest several players in order to make them more fresh for next league duties.
There is huge quality difference between these two sides and everything but a clear and easy home victory would be surprise as the guests can't be in worse atmosphere and caring less for tonight's game.
