Toulouse vs Nancy by Lucien
Toulouse managed to get a victory last weekend as the team won at home over Lorient, however the fight was quite good from their opponents and it wasn't as easy as it could be. Toivonen brought the home team into the double lead already in 20th minute, while Moukando reduced the deficit seven minutes later. Same player from Toulouse scored his third in 60th minute, with Waris only managing to write final 3:2 lead in 89th minute.
Overall, it needs to be said that the players of Toulouse (actually Toivonen) was deadly effective, while Lorient had more of the ball possession and chances created, but weren't lucky enough. Toulouse is now at seventh position having just three points less than fourth placed Lyon. Toulouse is set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation with Braithwaite as central striker, plus probably Durmaz, Toivoinen and Somalia as offensive midfielders. Offensive midfielder Jimmy Durmaz (14/2) is doubtful, same as central defender Issa Diop (12/1), both with chances to play. Injured are defenders Yrondu Musavu-King (3/0) and Francois Moubandje (15/0), also midfielder Oscar Trejo (10/1).
Nancy, on the other side, also comes from a home victory as they won over Angers last weekend 2:0. Ball possession was shared quite equally between the rivals, however home team looked more fluid with the ball to their feet and more concrete when speaking about chances created. They took the lead first, in 29th minute via Dia, while Puyo sealed the victory in 63rd minute, while the visiting side barely did something more concrete in attack.
This was fourth straight victory for Nancy in front of own fans in Ligue 1, as the team currently stands at fourteenth position, having four points more than relegated placed teams. However, problems come on the road where they have only one victory in eight matches played so far, with only three goals scored in those eight games and can't hope for much here. Visitors from Nancy will be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Dia, Hadji and Robic as forwards. First choice goalkeeper Guy N'Dy Assembe (15/0) is doubtful, same as Loic Puyo (offensive midfielder, 11/2).
- Toulouse have won their last 6 matches against Nancy.
Nancy will be fighting here, but I definitely see a home team prevailing here. Visitors are in a good recent run, but players of Toulouse remain with a bit more of individual quality and with the help of their own fans, they should get the victory one way or another.
