Torino vs Fiorentina by Enzo
Torino opened the season the best possible way with the victory away from home against Frosinone 2:1 last weekend. However the things didn't start that well for them with the home team taking the lead already after seventh minute. However visitors bounced back much better appearance in second when they needed only five minutes to reverse the score completely. It happened with goals from Quagliarella in 59th and Baselli in 64th minute, as the visiting side looked much better at later stages of the game deserved the victory completely without hosts being threatening near the end of the game.
However this wasn't the first official game for them this season, as the team already won in Italian Cup at home against Pescara 4:1 one week prior to the start of the league. Their club management announced much bigger ambitions for the season as the team wants to be highly competitive this time and fights for the European exit. They have reinforced the squad well and they really looked well in the first round, which gives them enough hope that they can get a positive result at home against Fiorentina this weekend. Hosts will continue with 3-5-2 formation and in-form Fabio Quagliarella and Maxi Lopez up front. Offensive midfielder Alexander Farnerud and Joel Obi are both injured.
Fiorentina, on the other hand, has also started the season well, with a victory in front of own fans against AC Milan 2:0. However, the truth is that the visiting side played really poorly and deserved the defeat completely. Hosts were way better, but the major fact was exclusion of AC Milan's player Ely in the first half time.
Later on it was easy for hosts and dominate the game as they took the lead in 38th minute with the goal from Alonso, while Ilicic sealed the victory in 56th minute with a goal from penalty spot. Viola actually played very well with efficient football during the preseason games winning over Chelsea, Barcelona and Benfica so this was just a continuation of their positive results. Visitors should be playing in 3-4-2-1 formation with Khouma Babacar and Giuseppe Rossi playing as offensive midfielders and Nikola Kalinic as striker. Coach Paulo Sousa has all players available for the selection.
Both teams are looking very early season and I believe this is going to be a very good game with plenty of offensive behavior from both sides as they both look much better in offensive part of the game. Torino might be closer to victory, but my first choice goes with goals since neither of the teams should be completely trusted so early in the season.
