Torino vs Cagliari by Enzo
Even though we can't speak about crisis of results in Torino, they could have done a bit more ouf of previous three rounds than just two points taken and a defeat. Lazio and Inter were tough opponents for them in previous rounds, but the side could have reacted at least a bit better in their 2:2 draw away from home against Udinese last weekend.
Still, not many can say that the final result is a negative one of them, but the team made deserved more having in mind how the things have developed on the field. They took the lead in 15th minute via Benassi and there were no real threats, but players of Udinese exploited their lack of concentration from 60th to 70th minute and reverted the scoreline thanks to goals from Thereau and Zapata. Still, Ljajic was able to score the equalizer for final 2:2. After this draw, the team stands at seventh position together with Fiorentina and Caglairi and are four points below the fifth and Europa League placed Napoli. Doubtful is forward Aramu (1/0) with a thigh problem, while injured remains defender Cristian Molinaro (4/0) with a knee injury.
Cagliari comes from a 2:1 victory at home over Palermo on Monday evening, in quite a balanced game where the final result could have been very different on some other day. Still, home side took the lead early in the second halftime with goals from Dessena, while the visitors were only able to reduce the deficit towards the end of the match via Nesterovski.
It was fourth victory for Cagliari at home out of six matches and they continue to perform really well in front of own fans, but the challenge comes with away matches (one victory and four defeats for now). It's surely something they'll need to improve in case they want to remain in the middle of the table - currently at ninth position being tied up with several more teams. Guests continue to miss defender Nicola Murru (10/0) due knee problem, while midfielders Artur Ionita (3/0) and Joao Pedro (3/1) are out with broken legs.
I'm sure it's time for Torino to respond now with much better performance. Cagliari may have even over performed in previous weeks, but away from home they remain nothing but a modest side only. I expect home team to prevail with ease, without getting into problems at the latter phase of the game.
