Lopez vs Pouille (By: Scully99)
Ok so didn't get off to the best start yesterday, Zverev started well and then just capitulated not winning a single game after 3-3 in the first set and I wouldn't be surprised if his career only continued going the way it is unfortunately, he seems to have lost all motivation.
Onto tomorrow though and more than just the one pick from me, but I'll start with two strong servers in Pouille and Lopez to play a pretty serve orientated first set. Lopez has already played four matches so far on grass this year with three of them seeing over 10.5 games in the first set and the one that didn't see over 10.5 games in the first set, saw it in the other two in that match. In his career, Lopez has held 90% of his serves on grass but only broken 15% of the time and with Pouille seeing similar stats, holding 85% of the time and breaking 14% of the time.
I watched Lopez's match against Karlovic in Surbiton and his serve was looking pretty good throughout, barring one hiccup game where he got broken in the third, but he is starting to have to rely on it a bit more as he gets a bit older now at the tender age of 37 and unless Pouille messes up his serve I can't see Lopez breaking him too many times. When these two met at this tournament two years ago there was only two breaks of serve in three sets and service being held 94% of the time.
Pouille's breaking stats are nothing to shout about on grass and he has also played over 10.5 games in at least one of his sets in 6/8 matches he has played here. This bet solely comes down to both players ability to hold serve especially at this tournament and this bet allows for a break of serve in the final game of the set if need be which has been seen in 3 out of Lopez's last 4.
