Fritz vs Baldi (By: Iniestaone)

Qualification final match from ATP Rome between Fritz (#57) and Baldi (#158)

I think these courts are a bit too slow for Fritz to humiliate Baldi. After seeing Fritz on clay this season, I think he will reach the Rome main event but it should be a tough road there as he is facing Baldi who always raises his level on Italian courts.

In the semis, Fritz took quite a narrow win against Jacopo Berrettini (6-4 6-3) and that second set was very unstable from both of them with Fritz being broken twice and Berrettini three times. Meanwhile, Baldi took out Klizan by 6-3 6-1 and an excellent performance. He has been in Rome once and that was last year after he qualified through Fucsovics (6.00 underdog) and Garcia Lopez (4.00 underdog) before losing to Basilashvili in the first round in three sets. This slow surface fits him a lot and it won't help Fritz on serve as much as other clay surfaces have done this season because Rome is much slower.

All in all, my gut feeling tells me that Fritz will win this but the circumstances warrant a +3.5 bet on Baldi to stay close to him throughout the match
