Zverev vs Opelka (By: Iniestaone)

Qualifying semifinal for ATP Madrid between M. Zverev (#95) and Opelka (#59)

I've gone against Zverev all year in different ways and I see no reason to stop now, I wrote it the last time I covered him here in his 0-2 loss to Daniel but its worthy of repeating: he is finished as a tennis player, he is not very old (31) but he moves like he is a decade older nowadays and since he does not have other weapons than his serve volley, his game becomes predictable and inefficient. His runs to the net are slow and he gets passed constantly. His last match was a loss against Pella in Munich, 2-6 1-6, prior to that he lost to Ferrer in Barcelona 3-6 1-6, before that he lost to 21 year old and 437th ranked Ocleppo in Monte Carlo in two tiebreaks.

Opelka lost to Monfils in Estoril three days ago, he fell apart in the third set when Monfils raised his level and bageled him. Opelka is not in good form whatsoever, but he has a serve that should be more than enough to knock out this edition of Zverev in two sets. Zverev has not taken a set for six matches and the last time he did it was against Kuhn in Miami who could barely play and had to retire.

I trust Opelka to get the job done in two here
