Malek Jaziri vs Mayer (By: Iniestaone)

Second round match from ATP Estoril between Jaziri (#75) and Leo Mayer (#62)

I am once again banking on Jaziri. For his match against Jarry in the first round, I wrote about how he has been fighting for everything lately even though the results haven't gone his way most of the time and I think that fighting spirit came through against Jarry.

Jaziri won the first set 6-3, lost the second 3-6 and was immediately broken in the third. Usually, we'd see a complete collapse from Jaziri at that point but he recovered so well by staying in the match by holding his serve and finally breaking Jarry twice to win the set 6-4.

Mayer defeated Lajovic in two sets in the first round, it was a good display from him no doubt but it was still a very unstable victory where both sets could have gone either way.

Lajovic seems to be overwhelmed by his recent success in Monte Carlo and I think we can expect a few more poor results from him in the near future. He has never been able to throw Mayer off his rhythm, it was Mayer's third victory in four encounters against him.

Motivation is the biggest reason for me backing Jaziri here though. He is going to compete fully in Estoril, Madrid Masters is coming up and Jaziri has never played it so Estoril will be important for him ahead of possibly Rome Masters that starts May 13th.

Leo Mayer has been given a place in the Madrid qualifiers where he is the 12th seed, has been there many times and I believe he values it a lot more than Estoril. If things aren't going Mayer's way from the get go then we can probably expect his mind to wander off to Madrid in the middle of the match.

I picked uo Kohlscrieber, Germany, as he looks to me very nice. He must be the boss in this game, after all he is German. What I like on him is the way he servd, he never smikes, deadly seriously player with full concentration in the field. He is so quiet that he can notice a sound of fly. As I saw his first match in Munich he did at easy, with no pressure like in the school.
So it shoukd be again on Philipp sids!

I think I'm gonna pick Zverev against Garin tomorow at 11:00 German is runing for the third title in Munchen. Why not to try again. In 2017 Munchen was a second title in that year ATP title, then in 2018 Munchen became a first and what about this year will he get a title once more. Zverev has plenty of motive to do that. He feels great at Germany but just to let you know how fast is he: Alexander wanted to get into ATP tournament; from Dusseldorf, Bastaad, Metz etc but he couldnt find a way, then after just three years he did it at Bastaad 2015, after that he become a raising star, a new member in sociaty of ATP. On the other hand Garin needs 9 years to be on the top which is Huston. The problem of this tournament is based on the fact that many players from Latin America enjoyed playing here which I sopose I dont need to explaine. One of them is Juan Monaco, Thomas Belucci and now Garin. We come to tradition in Final, for example at Huston was two Americans, Johnson & Sandgren, Sock & Querrey, while in Munchen two German player Kohlescrieber & Zverev. I'm just in panic about Garin because this is third tournamen at surface in what we saw his nice performance. Huston, Barcelona and now Munchen. Garin is very good at clay at Futures and Chalanger and compering their age its just one year ( 22 - 23 ).
My favorite is Zverev @1.35 75 : 25
