Young vs Hurkacz (By: Iniestaone)
First round match from ATP Indian Wells between Young (#206) and Hurkacz (#67)
I'm backing Hurkacz to defeat Young in straight sets here in their first round in Indian Wells.
I've watched some of Young's matches this year on the challenger circuit and he has been doing quite well, he is 11/6 so far this year but of course, its the challenger circuit where the competition isn't the same as in a Masters 1000 tournament.
Hurkacz is coming to this match after what is, of the top of my head, the best tournament in his life in Dubai. Sure he only took two wins but they were against Moutet in the first round and then the gigantic three set win versus Nishikori followed up by a three set loss to finalist Tsitsipas that had two tiebreaks. His motivation must be rocketing and I think he has the right weapons to knock out Young in two sets. The court circumstances with the balls flying at very high speed fit his big serve a lot and what is also noteworthy is that Young, who is a player with very low reach, has faced two players this year who base their game around their serve (Schnur and Harris) and he lost both those matches. As long as Hurkacz's serve works the way it did in Dubai just ten days ago, we should see a quick win for him here.
Also, there's a lot of discrepancy regarding this bet as Pinnacle offers 2.42 at the moment for Hurkacz to win in two while Betway and Bet365 opened it at 2.00
