Chardy vs Uchiyama (By: Iniestaone)
I watched Chardy defeat Kyrgios earlier today and I don't really know what to make of that. Kyrgios won the first set 7-6 and Chardy won the remaining two 6-2, 6-3. Chardy was really good on his serve, especially in the last two sets but there also was a factor of Kyrgios throwing the match as he does at times when he gets frustrated and nonchalant so I'm not sure exactly how much I should credit Chardy for the win.
Uchiyama on the other hand has been excellent in Brisbane, he qualified through Fratangelo, Polmans and Humbert before defeating Edmund as a big underdog in the first round. And he won all these matches in straight sets. He's been very solid on serve here in Brisbane, he actually had 15 aces vs Edmund in two sets (Chardy had 17 vs Kyrgios in three).
I can't call a winner here but I think we'll see a very good match that crosses the 22.5 line. Chardy is quite a big favorite but i'm a bit surprised at how high the odds on Uchiyama are considering how well he is playing here.
