Jabeur vs Zvonareva (By: Stanioooo)

Ons Jabeur faces Vera Zvonareva in the 2nd round in Bucharest.

Well, the Tunisian player amazed the audience in the 1st round, not only me with an impressive win 6:2 6:1 over Irina Camelia Begu, who was N3 seeded in the tournament. She was even kidding herself a week ago that the season just started for her, because she was kind of a tourist since the beginning of the year. What made me big impression was the way she played from the bottom of the court- she has such clean and powerful shots from the baseline, which made Begu to make so many forced errors. She played almost the same way in Wimbledon, where she was beaten in crazy third set by Siniakova. It's obvious she loves to play with a lot of power, but it's impressive how clinical is she without forcing the ball too much. Also drop shots are another big weapon she has.

Vera Zvonareva is N136 in the world ranking, almost 34 years old and the number of the tournaments in her programme will drop for sure in the next seasons. It depends on her how many years she will stay in the tour, but really don't expect anything impressive by her and return in top 100. She beat Alexandrova in the 1st round, but her opponent was absolutely awful with 0 aces and 5 double faults+ 1st and 2nd serve win percentage less than 40%. It will be totally different match against her Tunisian opponent, who is 10 years younger and I think in good mood. I saw big confidence against Begu and doubt it will be anything different against Zvonareva.

Jabeur to progress to the QFs is my prediction here. As one of the commentators said, if she continues to play like that, she has even good chances for the trophy, when the top seeded player is Sevastova, not Halep, Kerber, Serena or any of the best in the tour.

We will see, my tip is not connected with the fact who will lift the trophy, only that Jabeur will beat Zvonareva in the 2nd round :))

Zvonareva will snatch it. Though she's a veteran, experience will prevail

In her return to clay courts, she has good first serve win rate >70%, great returns almost 60% except for that game against Alexandrova. still, odds are wrong cause she has to be the underdog but its a sure thing for live betting.
