Coric vs Bautista-Agut (By: Stanioooo)
2ns SF match in Halle between Borna Coric and Roberto Bautista-Agut.
As I said yesterday, I expect a final between Roger Federer and Borna Coric and will not change my mind. Borna is like a wall in Halle and even Bautista Agut will have a lot of problems to deal with that fact. He serves perfect, faced almost no break chances in the tournament and is brilliant during the rallies. That's what's the main strenght in Bautista-Agut's style, so that I think he will have much problems today against the young Croatian. In comaprison with Coric, Bautista showed some weak things against Haase, when he saved 3 break chances when it was 4:4 in the 2nd set. If the break has happened, have no doubt he would have to play 3rd set, which is very dangerous against opponent like Robin Haase. Against Khachanov he was one set ahead, but the Russian leveled the game in the 2nd set, won it in the tiebreak and was also 2:0 up in the 3rd set with a break. Then something totally broke in Khachanov's performance, started to have much more difficulties on serve and Bautista finished him. Really don't think it will happen against Coric, not against the Croatian in that form.
They have 6 matches and Bautista Agut leads 4:2, but three of the matches were on clay during 2015 and 2016, where Agut was the big favorite to win them. It's much more important to see their H2H on faster courts and there Coric leads 2:1. During 2018 they have 2 matches- straight set win for Agut in Dubai and also straight set win for Coric in Indian Wells. Their last match finished with very comfortable win for Coric 6:1 6:3 and it gives me much more confidence about Coric's win. Bautista is an excellent fighter on the court, but I still think it will not be enough today against an opponent who is also in brilliant current form in Halle and is more than capable of beating your strenghts. Coric to set up a final with Roger is my prediction here!
