Roberto Cid vs Dellien (By: Khum)

ATP Challenger Shymkent

Roberto Cid - Hugo Dellien

What a great thing Victor Estrella-Burgos has done for his countrymen! Inspiration for other dominicans to believe that guys from that little country can perform in tennis.

Roberto Cid is a up and coming dominican who fared quite well this year and as a result he is at the peak of his ranking these weeks (292 right now, with 288 carreer best). The two very good tournaments he has made in Mexico, on clay in San Luis Potosi and on hard courts in Leon scored big in his rise. Pretty good wins in the first one, yet not remarcable, except the one over Bagnis.

Cid is gonna meet today the new Challenger sensation from Bolivia, Hugo Dellien. I've wrote about his great story here:

After that bet went green Hugo has managed to win that Vicenza challenger too and now has 3 trophies and one semifinal in 4 consecutive Challenger toutrnaments. Quite impressive, mmm?

And he keeps on pushing, as with a win today he will achieve a ranking that qualifies him directly on the Wimbledon main draw.

So, the difference in quality is here, the motivation is here, the pattern of winning and covering the spread as well is here (even when he's losing a set) ... so my pick is Dellien -3 games.

Let's go green!

For those less familiar with the stakes, being on the main draw at a Grand slam as Wimbledon, even without winning any match, brings 6 times the money for winning a challenger as the one they are playing this week.
I repeat: not for winning, only for being there.
