Cecchinato vs Djokovic

Novak Đoković was not perfect at the start of the tournament but he was excellent against Verdasco. As I said back then, my opinion was we are yet to see real Novak form. Verdasco was his toughest opponent and he raised the level of his game against Spanish player.

Of course, today's opponent is not someone who should be big threat for Novak, so I can understand if someone expect to see Novak underperforming a little bit. But I can't understand how anyone can trust to this guy who was already caught cheating. Namely Cecchinato was suspended on 18 months due to match fixing. The suspension was supposed to end in January this season but ended earlier after his plea. It's not that turned out he was innocent but he just used some "holes" in the law.

And you know how they say "once a thief, always a thief". So, I can't trust him in this match where he is clear underdog. I am much closer to believe he could tank this match.

In any case, even with Cecchinato playing his best possible tennis, Đoković can cover this handicap.

I expect from Đoković strong effort and short match cause he need to be as much fresh as possible against Zverev or Thiem.

Also note victory today would bring to Novak finally some ATP points cause he defends QF from season ago and now has chance to finally makes better result on some tournament than he had last year. So far Novak mainly was losing ATP points tournament after tournament, now has great chance to eaarn some of those.

"Once a thief, always a thief" ... for this reason we should kill people on any crime, as they will never be better.
Though, I believe in evolution, and spending lots of time with Nole in training should help Marco become a better person rather than make Nole a thief.
Yeat that's exactly what helps your bet, as well as mine, for usually the smarter guy takes strategical advantage from knowing very well the opponent.

Best of luck!

This Khum guy needs to stop hating and focus on improving his records instead, just trying to be like FairPlayBet

Djokovic admited that he had been approached by those malicious guys as well, but stated that he refused the 'deal' (to lose on purpose) although he actualy lost the game he was approached for!
So that makes two of them... this is the ultimate battle of thieves!

@Demogorgon, well, maybe I am wrong but if I remember well, ?okovi? got 200 thousands offer to lose but after it, he decided to withdraw from the tournament. So it was walkover. I don't know if we are talking about same situation (match vs Santoro long back in the past when Novak was around 20 years old).
@aron, I don't think it's hating, Khum pointed out something I didn't. I know what ?okovi? was talking about Ceccinato, all nice words. But, IMO that is not going in favor of my bet, it's the opposite. That's why I didn't mentioned they knows each other very well, trained together and are some kind of friends.
Namely, in such situation, if one of them is way better player, you won't see him too often to demolish the other guy. But of course I expected Novak to win without too many trouble and just in case I opted for games instead of set handicap if by some chance Ceccinato takes a set. But, seems both of those bets are lost, if after lost set we don't see 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in the next three.

Yes thats the one we all know about! but even at his peak when he was invincible, he had suspicious games...
Anyway i m just joking here.. seriously, i hope at least that he wins a set cause it would be ridicuous to lose over 3,5 sets cause of Djoko and hopefully he can cover your line as well.

He's taking this set but I'm curious about the match.
Fabulous luck for the Italian! ... Goffin in R16 and Nole in QF, both with shoulder issues.
Thiem will put a beat out on any of them.

If Novak retires this one, I am done with him for good. He is going then on my blacklist.

Cecchinato was literally everywhere and returned the ball very well in the first two sets so cant say anything about fixing... DESPITE the fact that he may have less winners than Djoko's unforced errors..............
