Swindon vs Bolton by Luke

Players and fans of Swindon can not be very happy with their entrance in the new season, since the team has three victories, three draws and five defeats so far. Such record isn't that bad, but it puts them only at 20th position for now, being just three points above rock bottom placed Oldham.

On the bright side, they are also just five points below the play-off placed Port Vale, so it could be said that the team is yet to determine their path in the season. In the most recent game, they managed to take a draw in a away game against Shrewsbury, following a 1:1 draw. They took the lead in 9th minute with a goal from Goddard, but the hosts replied just before the halftime whistle via Toney. Swindon is having three consecutive defeats in home matches in League One as there is no doubt that the team will give their everything to stay undefeated here this time out.

Home side will be missing defender Lloyd Jones who most likely will not be playing due to a muscle problem. They have no other injury worries.

Bolton has started the season almost perfectly, as the team is one of the biggest candidates for the promotion, but their form is far away from promotion material in month and a half or so. After four starting victories in League One, the team now has a run of seven matches without a victory and has slipped down the table to eight position at the moment, which is just a point below promotional positions.

Maybe even worse, is the fact that they didn't score in previous four League One matches, having three defeats out of last four matches. In the most recent one, they suffered 0:2 home defeat at home against Oxford United last weekend, being better during the match but due the lack of concentration, they conceded two goals inside last ten minutes, and stood with empty hands in the end. If anything, the team managed to get a victory in Checkatrade trophy game last Tuesday evening, winning over Blackpool 1:0 narrowly. Visitors will be without full back Dean Moxey this time, but welcome couple of other players back. Max Clayton and Darren Pratley continue to miss.

Bolton is going nowhere with their form and I actually don't expect them getting back to winning ways all of hte sudden here. Draw can't be excluded, but the home team remains much closer to a victory in my eyes.
