Sweden vs Belgium by Isaiah

After two weak appearances in this edition of Euro and a draw against Irish side and a defeat to Italians, Swedish team goes into this match knowing that they are facing up early elimination in case they don't secure a victory over Belgium. They have just one point out of two games and in case of a victory here, that would probably be enough for them to get the qualification, but seeing them in first two rounds, that's not completely realistic for now.

Of course, all of that given the fact that Italians will not suffered big defeat against Irish side which could put the Irish into the leading position for the third place. One way or another, Swedish side showed very little for now, especially in offense and this match comes as the last wake up call for them - they will need to attack sooner or later, knowing that the side is facing up against one of the strongest sides at Championship.

Swedish side should be playing in 4-4-2 formation with Ibrahimovic and Guidetti as strikers. Right full back Mikael Lustig is doubtful for this one after he still struggles with a groin strain, with Victor Lindelof set to start instead of him once more. Head coach Erik Hamren could field the same squad as in their defeat to Italy.

Belgium, on the other side, improved a lot in their second round game when the team won over Republic of Ireland 3:0 with a really good performance in attack, especially in the second halftime when they finally found a way to reach opponent's net. It was great improvement after their defeat in the first round to Italians 2:0.

Now, in order to progress further, they need to get a point at least, as it would secure them the second position, but knowing that the Swedish side needs to attack, they will need to be concrete in offense as well as the team can't afford to lose and gamble with their destiny further. Belgium is set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation with Lukaku as number nine, but also Carrasco, Bruyne and Hazard as offensive midfielders.

Offensive midfielder Mousa Dembele is doubtful for this one after he limped off in the previous game against Republic of Ireland with an ankle injury. Other than that, their coach Marc Wilmots has no fresh injury concern and will probably field the same starting lineup that won over Irish side, but this time probably with Radja Nainggolan as an option alongside Alex Witsel.

  • Belgium have won 5 of their last 6 matches (EURO Cup).

One way or another, I see this game as much more open than how the bookies currently represent it. Swedish side needs to attack and they are not harmless in attack, on the other side being vulnerable at the back. On the other hand, Belgium doesn't need to get the victory, but should be able to exploit gaps in opponent's defense easier than expected.

Belgium will not allow Sweden to get goals over here.
0-1 for Belgium to enter next stage.

Not allow? You sure? I Still think belgium has poort defence, ibra his last game (maybe) If they don’t win, I aspect Sweden to work even harder for Ibra.

This is logical bet, on line over 2 goals is better but only if odds is above 1.80

Sweden has yet to fire ONE shot on target at the competition, not sure about this bet… Your best chance is Belgium 3-0 if Sweden opens up after the 1st goal. I’m not sure Sweden will go for the attack right way, Hamren is extremely defensive, more likely that he will only go for the win on the last 20minutes if the match is still 0-0.
PS: Belgium should qualify even if they don’t get a point today. If Italy wins or draw against Ireland, Belgium will go through as 3rd place.
