Stromsgodset vs Kristiansund by Isaiah
Stromsgodset continued with poor performances last weekend, as the team suffered 2:0 convincing defeat away to Lillestrom. This way they continued their winless streak to four matches now, remaining inside the relegation zone.
They had chances during the game and actually didn't look that bad, having a lot more of the ball possession, but also showed huge gaps in the defensive line, something that they need to improve a lot in order to avoid relegation fight. Hosts took advantage of it very well, opening the scoreline in 32nd minute via Udoji, while Knudtzon doubled up in 43rd minute. Visitors tried to react, however without improvement in attack. The side is now at fourteenth position with just two points less than safely placed Kristiansund and needs a victory badly here.
Goalkeeper Sosha Makani (1/0) has returned to Iran due to personal problems, while the team has no real absentee worry for this one. Bassel Jradi and Marcus Pedersen are both back after suspension.
Kristiansund, on the other side, improved a lot and surprised last time out on Monday evening as the team took a point in a 3:3 draw at home against Rosenborg. Of course their opponents were huge favorites and this remains very positive result for the whole club.
Surely their morale is also improved after such achievement, however needs to be said that even though the players of Kristiansund were lucky by converting their chances into goals, they also could have achieved a victory, since the team conceded the third goal in first minute of additional time. Players of Rosenborg took the double lead during the first halftime via Vilhjalmsson and Konradsen, however hosts stepped up and played way better in the repetition, quickly leveling up with two goals from Mendy, in 54th and 60th minute. Sorli reverted the scoreline completely in 82nd, however they couldn't keep the clean sheet, conceding another one very late via Bendtner.
Eriene Sivertsen is long term absentee due injury, without performing so far in the season. Injured and out should also be defender Henrik Gjesdal (5/0) and goalkeeper Conny Mansson (1/0).
Very open game is what I expect from these two since the home team is simply desperate for a victory, while Kristiansund comes with improved morale and very close to the relegation battle. A game that is probably more important than three points only shouldn't end up with just a couple of goals this time.
