Strasbourg vs Nantes by Lucien
Strasbourg simply wasn't up to the task in previous match, since the team completely lost their ground and stood defeat away from home against Monaco with a 3:0 result last weekend. Players of Monaco showed to be way more dominant and deserved the victory, taking the lead towards the end of the first halftime via Rony Lopes, whil they netted twice more in the second.
Falcao was the goal scorer of both goals in the repetition, as the home team looked very superior in attack, while the players of Strasbourg looked pretty much cluelles and most of their tries ended up with long range shoots. It was their third consecutive defeat in Ligue 1 now, as the team now stands inside the relegation zone with just four points earned, but still just a point less than safely placed sides.
Home team is set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation with central striker Saadi and offensive midfielders Terrier, Corgnet and Costa as his support. Home team should have no fresh injury worries for this one.
Nantes, on the other side, managed to pull out a narrow 1:0 victory at home over Caen, thanks to a pretty late goal scored by Girotto in 73rd minute via Girotto. However, must be said that they had better chances during all ninety minutes and have completely deserved that three pointer.
Even though the players of Caen had more of the ball possession, their chances were usually longer range shots, while the home team certainly did look more concrete. This was second consecutive victory for Nantes and third in last four matches (against Montpellier and Trotes on the road too), while they also held Lyon to a goalless draw, being in more than fine form for their standards at the moment.
Visitors are set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation as well, with Sala as central striker, plus Iloki, Thomasson and Lima as offensive midfielders. They will miss midfielder Yacine Bammou (1/0), but also midfielder Joris Kayemen (no performance so far) and other midfielder, Samuel Moutoussamy (2/0).
- Strasbourg have failed to score in their last 3 matches (Ligue 1).
Nantes has showed much more in the season, especially in defensive part of the game and generally I see the odds as very valuable in this one. Strasbourg is a newly promoted side and isn't inspiring with confidence at the moment and players of Nantes have all the chances to walk away with something here - in the end, they are without a conceded goal in last four.
