St Truiden vs Waregem by Isaiah
St Truiden gave a pretty good fight last Sunday evening, but the team still stood defeated on the road against Genk with a narrow 1:0 result. They were playing a bit more defensively oriented and were standing behind the ball more, but were also threatening in front of opponents goal.
Still, last part of the game belonged to the home team which managed to take the three pointer with a goal from Karelis in 88th minute, without leaving enough time to the visiting side to respond. It's nothing new for St Truiden, since the team has only a point taken in six matches away from home, while they rely much more on their matches in front of own fans (eight points earned at home in comparison to one on the road). After this defeat, which was fourth consecutive game without a victory for St Truiden, the team continues to be at the rock bottom position, together with Westerlo and Waasland-Beveren and remains close to a must win situation. Hosts have no fresh injury nor suspension worries.
After their defeat away from home against Genk, it was nice to see players of Zulte Waregem responding with a victory in front of own crowd last Saturday evening against Lokeren with a 2:0 result. Hosts were determined to get the victory from the first minute, looked better on the field and completely deserved it in the end.
Cordaro brought the home team into the lead in sixteenth minute, while Larager increased their lead in 74th minute, while the overall impression is that the players of Zulte actually didn't need to play close to their full potential in order to get the victory. After this three pointer, Zulte managed to get back to the first position, now having two points more than Anderlecht and Oostende and surely that the team wants to remain at the first place as long as possible, surely including a victory here. Goalkeeper Sammy Bossut (5/0) is injured, as well as right full back Henrik Dalsgaard (no performance so far in the season) and striker Obbi Oulare (5/0).
I see Zulte Waregem being in much better momentum and much better form. Overall, they are way more threatening and much more concrete and I see them as more stronger favorites than what the bookies suggest. Odds are too good to be missed here, since this game is nowhere close to a 50-50 one.
