St Polten vs Wolfsberger by Gustav
St Polten comes from a very important victory away from home against Ried last weekend, in a game where the team got awarded for their fighting spirit in the second halftime especially. Home team looked maybe a bit more concrete in the first halftime and took the lead at the end of it via goal from Reifeltshammer, but the things were completely different in second.
St Polten started being way more concrete and easily equalized in eight minute of the second half via Petrovic, continued being slightly better and maybe got lucky a bit few moments before the final whistle when they scored second goal via Lumu. This was third undefeated match for St Polten (previously won over Sturm Graz and drew at home to Mattersburg), as the team continued their detachment from the bottom of the table, now having four points more than Mattersburg. Left full back Martin Grasegger (9/0) is injured.
Wolfsberger, on the other side, suffered quite easily defeat in front of own fans against Austria Vienna 0:3 last weekend. However, it needs to be said that the players of Wolfsberger did decent things in attack and actually deserved to score at least, but the visitors completely took control in their hands once they scored the opener.
It happened in 55th minute with a goal from Tajouri, while hosts tried to respond desperately, however without making concrete chances and only making their defensive lineup even more nervious, so the guests had an easier game and scored twice more - in 76th via Venuto and in third minute of additional time with a goal from Friesenbichler. This was their second consecutive defeat after previously winning three in a row, as the team remained at sixth position, now having nine points more than relegating placed Mattersburg. Left winger Benjamin Rosenberger (no performance so far in the season) is injured, as well as striker Tadej Trdina (who didn't perform in Bundesliga).
This game game comes as very important one for both sides, since it can determine their further path. St Polten is doing more than fine and the moment and looks like slight favorite in my eyes, but Wolfsberger remains very dangerous in attack and therefore, my first betting choice for this match will be over goals. It can come even inside the first halftime.
