St Pauli vs Nurnberg by Gustav

St Pauli couldn't do much in a 3:0 defeat away from home to Sandhausen last weekend, since the team was outplayed once again. They had more of the ball possession, but were way not concrete with the ball to their feet and were simply terrible at the back, as said, once again.

Sandhausen made a strong start into the match and took the double lead already after the first halftime, thanks to goals from Holer in 26th and Pledl in 45th minute. Visitors were having more of ball possession in the second halftime, but as said without much of concrete chances, while the hosts scored third in 72nd minute via Wooten. This was fourth defeat in a row for St Pauli, as the team still stands in the rock bottom position, with already six points less than safely placed sides. With only one victory so far, the team needs to improve badly in order to keep the chances of staying in the second Bundesliga alive. During the midweek, the team got easily outplayed by Hertha in the Cup game 0:2 at home.

Home side will miss midfielders Rosin (1/0) and Dudziak (6/0). Doubtful are defender Kalla (6/0) and top scorer forward Bouhaddouz, as well as two defenders, Sobiech and Hedenstad, but they will most likely be playing.

Nurneberg, on the other hand, had an easy game last weekend when the team won 2:0 over Hannover at home. They made a really strong into the match and took the lead already in fourth minute via Matavz. Soon enough, in 21st minute they had the double lead via Burgstaller and made the tempo way lower since then.

They had no need to attack and left the ball possession to their opponent, who were better, but without completely making Nurnberg's victory being in danger. It could be said that the team is in a really good form now, since they have four consecutive victories now In 2.Bundesliga and are well above the relegation zone, with fourteen points earned so far, four more than relegating worried Aue. During the midweek, they lost narrowly to Schalke 2:3 in Cup competition. Defender Margreitter (2/0) and midfielders Parker (4/1) and Alushi (5/0) are injured and out. Midfielders Behrens and Mohwald (8/1) are doubtful.

Visitors seem to be in way better form at the moment and in my eyes, should be set as bigger favorite here. If they manage to repeat anything close to their performances on the road to Arminia Bielefeld and Karlsruher, there won't be much of problems for them to get another three pointer.
