St Patricks vs Bohemians by Shibby
Ireland Premier League action tonight for me in a game that will see St. Patrick’s host Bohemians in a 19:45 kick off (UK Time), the venue is Richmond Park, Dublin. This fixture was originally scheduled for July, however, due to other fixtures this had to be moved. Both teams head into the game having played on Friday evening (05/06/2015), leaving them just a few days between games, therefore, I think there will be an element of tiredness in the game, which usually results in mistakes.
The game should be a close one in my opinion and a game that neither team will really want to lose. The home side (St. Patrick’s) currently lie in 5th place, just 3 points behind their opponents (Bohemians), who sit in 4th in the league. St. Patrick’s do have a slightly better goal difference so far and find themselves with a +9 already after just 15 games. Bohemians goal difference is just +6, so the home team know that a win here will see them move into 4th place, so motivation will be high. Byrne is the only player absent from the team.
The hosts head into the game on the back of a couple of victories, so I expect confidence to be high. They have won their last 2 games (1 home, 1 away). They actually beat 3rd placed Shamrock Rovers in the FAI Cup on the 29th May 2015 2-1. The game was very tight and to get the victory against a strong Shamrock team will boost the team morale for sure! Their last game was a league game which they won 3-0 away at Derry City (currently in 9thin the league). They set their stall out early and dominated the play and was rewarded early on when Greene opened the scoring in the 26th minute. St Patrick’s continued where they left off and started the 2nd half like they ended the first, with an early goal…Chambers got the 2nd in the 56thminute and from then on they looked very comfortable on the ball. A 93rd minute 3rdgoal from Forrester made the victory a convincing one. A 3-0 home win well deserved.
The visitors (Bohemians) also head into the game on the back of 2 straight victories, like St. Patricks, 1 home and 1 away, 1 FAI Cup and 1 league. Their cup game on the 29th May 2015 saw them thump Firhouse Clover 4-1, a game they ran from the first minute. Their last game was an amazing 2-1 victory away at league leaders Dundalk! They were quite lucky to finish with 3 points, however, a win is a win and this will no doubt boost their confidence hugely! Dundalk goalkeeper Rogers scored a 2ndminute own goal which set Dundalk on the back foot, I don’t think they fully recovered from then on really. They did pull things together in the 10th minute and got an equaliser from Massey which brought the game to 1-1. A 72nd minute from Mulcahy sealed the win for Bohemians! I think that Bohemians actually only had 2 or 3 shots on target and managed to win 2-1 and get the 3 points so well done! Mulcahy, Murphy and Kavanagh are all injured and will miss the game.
For me I just think both teams will head into the game in a confident mood and will not want to lose, I see a few goals in the game and think that BTTS @ a price of 2.25 with Betvictor is a huge price! Good luck all!
