Sport Recife vs Palmeiras by Enzo
Sport Recife suffered 3:2 loss away from home against Vitoria few days ago, in one of the most interesting matches of previous Serie A round. At the same time, it was their first defeat after three matches without a loss, two victories at home (against Chapecoense and Fluminense) and a draw on the road against Sao Paulo.
Players of Sport Recife had the lead in that game from 18th minute thanks to a goal from Ferraz, but didn't have much chances staying undefeated as they were left playing with a man less six minutes later when midfielder Felipe got excluded. Vander, Euller and Nickson managed to overturn the scoreline and bring Vitoria into 3:1 lead till 64th minute, while the visitors stood playing with a man more less in 67th when Lenis left the field. However, they still managed to reduce the deficit in 78th when Fderraz scored his second goal.
Sport Recife should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Edmilson as number nine, but also with Xavier, Souza and Rogerio as offensive midfielders. Their manager Oswaldo de Oliveira won't be able to count at defender Oswaldo Henriquez (3/0), while three players remain doubtful for this one: goalkeeper Magrao (11/0), defensive midfielders Rithely (10/2) and Serginho (9/0).
Palmeiras, on the other side, returned to winning ways thanks to 4:0 victory at home against Figuirense few days ago. They dominated from the first till last minute and completely deserved the three pointer, taking the lead already in seventh minute with a goal from Moises.
Dudu increased to 2:0 just before the halftime whistle, while Gabriel Jesus scored twice in the second halftime to seal the victory. It was good to see them getting back to positive results, after their slip up away to Cruzeiro which broke their run of six matches without defeat (five victories and a draw). They continue to lead the table, actually being tied up now with second placed Corinthians, so a victory here remains their target.
Visitors should be lined up in 4-2-1-3 formation with Guedes, Jesus and Dudu as forwards, but also with Xavier as offensive midfielders. Midfielder Jean should be ready for this one after missing the previous game. Forwards Lucas Barrios (2/0) and Alecsandro (5/1) are still injured. Doubtful for this one remain offensive midfielder Agustin Allione (no performance yet in the new season) and central back Edu Dracena (6/0).
- Sport have scored at least 2 goals in their last 4 matches against Palmeiras.
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 9 of Palmeiras's last 10 away games (Brasileirao).
After they have suffered defeat away to Cruzeiro, Palmeiras bounced back with much better performance against Figuirense. I don't see Sport Recife actually getting a positive result here. Palmeiras is much more quality and having way better individuals and one way or another, away side is much more closer to get all three points here.
