Spain vs Turkey by Isaiah
Spanish side was made to work for their 1:0 victory over Czech Republic few days ago, as the team looked pretty much dominant and superior in comparison to their opponents, but only found a way to score the winning goal late, in 87th minute with Pique's header. Overall, the victory was deserved even though we could have seen more of their goals if the team was able to score earlier.
At the same time, Czechs missed great chance near the end of the game for the surprise. After this victory, Spaniards should be playing a bit more relaxed - but at the same time, knowing that they need to improve in offense and be more concrete in front of opponents goal.
Spaniards should be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Pedro, Morata and Silva as forwards. Their coach Vicente Del Bosque has no fresh injury concerns in front of this game, though he might make some change in attack after not that effective performance against Czech Republic. Nolito didn't impress and could be replaced here with Pedro on the left flank. Alvaro Morata, however, could get another chance as striker.
Turkey, on the other side, come from a narrow 1:0 defeat against Croatia in their EURO opening game and the team is now under pressure to get a point here at least, in order to stay competitive for the knockout stage. Of course that the victory here would be ideal choice, but knowing the strength of Spain, there's no doubt that they would be quite happy with a draw as well.
Fatih Terim's side failed to show anything impressive in their defeat, as the Croats looked like a real team which always know what they wanted with the ball to their feet and were dangerous in every situation with the ball, while the Turks looked very ineffective and the impression is that they wouldn't score for much longer period than ninety minutes.
Turkish side should be fielded up in 4-2-3-1 formation with Yilmaz as number nine, but also Mor, Calhanoglu and Turan as offensive midfielders behind him. Gokhan Gonul and Mehmet Topal are both doubtful for this game, with Semih Kaya and Sener Ozbayrakli probably being put into their defensive lineup. Ozan Tufan could also drop to bench, while Yilmaz and Mor should feature both from the off.
- Spain have kept a clean sheet in their last 9 matches (EURO Cup).
Spaniards go into this match as almost huge favorites and should get the victory comfortably. Turkish side didn't impress against Croats at all and we should see improved Spain in offense. Under such circumstances, Spanish side should get way easier victory that the odds represent.
