Spain vs Serbia (Women Handball) by 20Legend
Spain lost their opening game against the host nation Sweden (25-19) and it was a complete deserved loss as well. The main reason were all the technical mistakes which Sweden took great care of and secured the upper hand all the way. That puts Spain in a must-win mode if a semifinal should be within reach after this game. It is all about take these two points in order to stay in the race when the main round begins.
Serbia on the other hand dealt with Slovenia in a fantastic match seen with neutral eyes. Serbia won 36-34 in the end which was quite an interesting start for this young team. Profiles like Dragana Cvijijc, Katarina Tomasevic and Andrea Lekic have all stepped down from the international stage, which leaves the team with new talented players stepping up offensively. The defensive part if not great at all though and they have to make up for it by playing with a very high tempo offensively with great combinations involved.
The line looks way too low at first here. The Spanish team has the most skilled individual players here and it should create problems for a rusty Serbian defense. Spain has to step up several levels in order to stay in the fight for most points into the main round and a possible semifinal later on. However, it demands that the technical problem goes away, while Serbia must try to keep their pace up offensively in order to hang on as long as possible here. I therefore believe in at least 52 goals to be scored tonight.
