Sociedad vs Real Madrid by Jimeno
Real Sociedad is enjoying early start in the season as the team has three victories against really difficult opponents and are showing together with Europa League victory over Rosenborg that their positive start is not a coincidence. Firstly they have won over Celta on the road and Villarreal at home, but also confirmed good performances with a 4:2 victory on the road against Deportivo.
They simly had a great start and managed to score twice inside first minutes (via Juanmi and Illramendi), while the hosts tried to reply back during the most of the match and actually leveled up the result via Adrian and Andone, however the guests were willing to risk more towards the end and sealed a three pointer with goals from Llorente and Illarramendi in a match that could have gone different ways. The side now has 3-0-0 record and are at the second position with three points less than Barca, but a game less as well.
Hosts are set to play in 4-3-3 formation with Juanmi, Jose and Januzaj most likely as forwards. Central defender Raul Navas (2/0) is injured, same as right back Carlos Martinez (no performance so far). Doubtful are central back Inigo Martinez and offensive midfielder Mikel Oyarzabal.
Real Madrid, on the other side, managed to get the Spain Super Cup title with a 5:1 victory over Barcelona on aggregate result, but their entrance into the LaLiga competition isn't at the best possible level for now. They opened up the season with an easy victory on the road to Deportivo, but made two consecutive setbacks, both at home, firstly against Valencia in a 2:2 draw and in the most recent game against Levante as well.
They had much more of the ball possession and chances created, but the guests took the lead in 12th minute via Ivi, while Lucas leveled up the result in 36th minute. Even though they were trying to revert the scoreline completely in the second halftime, they didn't managed, staying with a man less towards the end when Marcelo got red carded and making their lives in last moments unpleasant. As for the Champions League, they easily overpowered APOEL 3:0 last Wednesday evening at home.
Visitors are set to play in 4-3-3 formation too, with Bale, Asensio and Isco as forwards. Offensive player Karim Benzema (3/0) remains to be injured, while sidelined is also midfielder Mateo Kovacic (2/0). Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo are both suspended for this one.
Hosts are enjoying the start of the season and will surely be looking to get a positive result here too, but also knowing that they can't get anything if they try to stand behind the ball too much. Real Madrid will surely be going for a victory here and it's something that promises very open performance from both ends. Goals look like granted here.
