Sligo vs Galway by Shibby

So, the English football has finished now, it's been a boring few weeks since the season ended. This has again resulted in me watching the Irish football, which in all honesty, isn't too bad. There are some great players in these leagues, players who are usually being looked at by top English clubs.

The first tip for the month is between Sligo Rovers and Galway. The game will be played at The Showgrounds and will kick off this evening at 19:45. Both sides have not started the season too well and both find themselves in the bottom 3 of the table. The home side Sligo are currently in 10th in the table after just 16 points from 17 games :( however, their opponents for today has a slightly worse record, Galway have just 14 points from their first 17 games, so not a huge difference between both clubs.

The home side head into the clash tonight without a win in their last 5 games, the last 5 games has seen Sligo lose 2 and draw 3, which isn't too bad, they just need to start converting the draws into wins. 3 of their last 5 league games has seen BTTS. A lot of games this season which have involved Sligo has seen BTTS, so something I've been keeping an eye on.

Sligo can turn on the heat at home when needed, and seem to perform better against slightly higher oppositions, they recently beat Limerick and Bohemians at home (6th and 7th in the table), so I always expect them to score goals at home. Just look at last season, they finished just outside the European spots, however, after a very poor start to this season (by their previous seasons) I think they will struggle to replicate that unless they turn things around quickly.

The opponents on the other hand seem to be following in the same direction as last season, they were lucky last year and finished 9th, this year it doesn't seem like they have learnt any lessons. Galway away from home this season isn't great at all, they have yet to register a wain away from home, however, a few draws, also recently quite a few games with BTTS, which is what I fancy for tonight's game.

Both sides are capable of scoring goals and both very capable of conceding goals. I'll be going for exactly 2 or 3 goals to be scored at a price of 2.05 with BetVictor. Good luck all. I can see the game ending in a score draw also, so if you fancy a little flutter on correct score 1-1 too this is priced at 7.0 with William Hill :) Worth a small punt.

Bet: 2 or 3 goals scored @ 2.05 with BetVictor
Result: 1-1 (won)
