Sheffield Wednesday vs Burton Albion by Shibby
Championship action for me tomorrow night. The first game will be played at Hillsborough, Sheffield and will be played between play off hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday vs relegation threatened Burton Albion. The game will kic off at 19:45, UK time.
The hosts Sheffield Wednesday head into the game tomorrow night in fine form, they seem to have almost secured their place in the play offs, who knows they may gain promotion this time, having lost out last season! Wednesday head into this game currently sat in 6th, 5 points clear of Fulham (Fulham have a game in hand so pressure on Wednesday).
They have 5 wins from last 7 league games, the last game being against Norwich City at Hillsborough. The game ended 5-1 in favour of the Owls. It was a great performance and a much deserved win for them. They have been getting wins recently, however, they have not been too convincing. Yet on the weekend they looked like the old Sheffield Wednesday, putting an amazing 5 goals past one of the strongest squads in the league. Ross Wallace started things off in the 15th minutes, Rhodes soon made it 2-0 Wednesday in the 22nd minute. Cameron Jerome did pull one back for Norwich, however, a Fox goal in the 41st minute gave Wednesday a 2 goal lead heading into the break. After half time the game was over pretty quickly and Wednesday deserved the 3 points.
The visitors for the game are Burton Albion. Burton are 19th in the table, and find themselves in trouble. They do head into the game unbeaten in their last 4 league games, however, this includes 3 draws and a win. The victory came against Norwich at home, 2-1. They have then drawn with Derby, Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City at the weekend. Burton have struggled lately to score goals, against an in-form Wednesday side I expect this to be a tough challenge.
The toughest away game Burton experienced lately was a 4-1 drubbing at Brighton. Brighton are on par with Sheffield Wednesday and I expect a tough game for Burton tomorrow.
I will be backing Sheffield Wednesday to win here at a price of 1.67 with William Hill. I don't think this will be an easy game for Wednesday, however, I think the result at the weekend would have given the whole place a lift, the fans included. I think the fans will get behind them tomorrow knowing that Fulham have a game in hand over them and play a tough Leeds side tomorrow. Good luck all.
