Sampdoria vs Roma by Sunshine
After a disappointing 0:3 loss at home against Genoa two weeks ago in a local derby, Sampdoria managed to save themselves with a 2:2 draw away to Cagliari, outcome that they needed more than anything in order to keep the atmosphere decent in their roster. The game itself had quite a slow tempo as the home side were leading from 26th minute and nothing got changed till the very last minutes of the match.
However, visitors equalized with a goal from Gabbiadini in 89th minute, just to find themselves at the back again with a goal in the first minute of injury time. Even so, they were lucky to get the draw with a goal in the third minute of injury time as De Silvestri scored second equalizer. Second goal was celebrated in a wild way by their coach Delio Rossi who got expelled from the referee. After his last goal that saved the club from losing again, Gabbiadini is expected to start at the top of attack, while Rossi has not yet decided whether to field a team in a 3-5-2 or 3-4-2-1 formation. Offensive midfielder Sansone may be on the pitch for the first time as a starter, while Regini seems like a sure starter too. Only absentee for the home side should be left attacking midfielder Eder.
Roma continued with a good start in the season as the team earned their fourth consecutive victory with a 2:0 win over Lazio, a city rival in a game Roma had patience in the first half-time, while they got awaken in the second half as Balzaretti scored opening goal in 63rd minute, while Ljajic sealed the victory from the penalty spot in fourth minute of injury time.
This is the fourth time in their history that Roma starts with four victories, while they have never been able to complete five out five for till now. Coach Garcia was satisfied after the local derby, saying that he likes what he sees from his team, adding that they have to be patient and see if they can finish in the top five. Also has congratulated to everyone and added that he expected his team to continue playing good football in next weeks too. Goalkeeper Lobont will hardly be ready for the game, same as midfielder Bradley and striker Destro. With a goal behind himself, Balzeretti might start from the first minute again, while the coach didn't decide between Ljajic who came in the last weeks of transfer period and Gervinho. Apart from those two, the team should be the same as against Lazio.
Roma seems to be quite an attacking side in the new season and with four victories behind their back, there is no doubt that they will be trying to get through to the fifth too. Open game is expected as the hosts have nothing to lose and will surely try to surprise and make damage in front of Roma's goal, while the visitors still remain favorite.
