Sampdoria vs Bologna by Enzo
After disappointing exclusion in Europa League where the team exited already at the first step in third qualifying round to Serbian side Vojvodina, thanks to embarrassing 4:0 defeat in front of own fans in the first leg, it's obvious that the team's performances have improved much. They have won the second leg with a 2:0 score, but couldn't do more however, weren't too disappointed as it was clear after the first round that the team is eliminated.
Anyhow, after worrying performances in qualifying round, they bounced back with much better performance in the league opener against Carpi at home, side that was defeated with a 5:2 result. Victory was achieved thanks to great first halftime when the team scored all five goals, two via Eder and Muriel and one thanks to Fernando, as the team showed great efficiency having in mind number of chances they had. In the second round, they visited Napoli and actually nobody expected them to pull out something positive out of that game, but the team still managed to grab a point in a 2:2 draw. Coach Walter Zenga might have some problems picking up his defensive line for this one, as he can't count at three injured defenders: central defenders Ervin Zukanovic (1/0) and Andrea Coda (2/0), plus right back Lorenzo De Silvestri. There are no worries for him in attacking line as Eder and Luis Muriel showing good form lately.
Bologna is yet to earn a point after two rounds and combined with their defeat in the Cup competition against Pavia at home, there is no doubt that the early start of the season is more than worrying for their coach and club's management. Defeat 2:1 away from home against Lazio in the season opener was more than expected and the team got outplayed, however their second round match at home brought many worries as the team got defeated against Sassuolo 1:0.
Neither of the teams looked active on the field and it looked like they both will be satisfied with a draw, however visitors were slightly active in the last quarter of the game and celebrated all three points thanks to a goal from Floro in 86th minute. Only one goal scored in three official matches is worrying enough for the team that will be looking to impress here and get back with a point at least which would represent improvement in their form. Surely that they are already under some kind of a pressure and that they would be more than satisfied with a point here. Coach Delio Rossi will field up the team in a 4-3-3 formation, while he can't count at injured midfielder Luca Rizzo and defender Marios Oikonomou (1/0).
Overall impression is that Sampdoria scores with ease and as long it's like this, they will have no problem to overpower not effective Bologna, even though they miss some defenders for this one. Hosts had a positive start and are expected to control the game here from the first moment, eventually ending the game with rather easy three pointer.
