Salzburg vs Austria Vienna by Gustav

Salzburg enters this match after a setback last weekend as the team took only a point in a 1:1 game away from home against Admira. They dominated the game from the first moment, but the hosts took the lead against the flow of the match via Sax in 56th minute, while the guests increased the tempo even further but weren't able to revert the scoreline completely.

Instead of it, they were only able to level up the result in 79th minute via Schlager despite many chances missed. This draw broke their winning streak of eight consecutive matches in Bundesliga as the side remains first at the table with four points more than second placed Altach and six points more than third placed Austria Vienna which makes this game very interesting. Their coach Oscar Garcia can't count at central defender Asger Sorensen (no performance yet for the first team) and forward Samuel Tetteh (same as Sorensen) due injuries, practically having their pretty much best players at disposal.

Austria Vienna, on the other side, took a really convincing victory last weekend as the team won over Wolfsberger 3:0 in front of own fans. The team looked really rock solid during the whole game and were threatened only couple of times, leaving their opponent to a really defensive and passive role.

They took the lead in 34th minute with an own goal, while victory got sealed in the second halftime with goals from Grunwald and Kayode. It was their third victory in last four matches (loss to Altach in progress), as the team remains third - placed at Europa League positions but somehwat off from the title race having six less than Salzburg and only a victory here can improve their title chances. Goalkeeper Robert Almer (9/0) and left winger Ismael Tajouri (23/6) are injured.

Austria comes into this match after two consecutive victories away from home and being in a must win situation if they are to chase Salzburg for the title. It's something that promises very open game from both sides and knowing that they both have much more attacking quality than what their defensive lineups reliable are, my betting choice will be with both teams scoring and actually plenty of goals in this one.
