Rotherham vs Cardiff by Shibby
Championship action (19/09/2015) at the New York Stadium in a 15:00 kick off. I will be attending the game and the hosts Rotherham United will welcome Cardiff City to Rotherham.
Rotherham head into the game vs Cardiff playing some decent football, I know we haven’t won a game yet, however, I have a feeling it could be tomorrow (very optimistic). The last 2 games that we’ve played we have looked better and I think the players are starting to perform together as a team, let’s not forget, manager Steve Evans brought in a lot of new faces at the start of the season and these would have needed time to settle in at the club and get to know each other etc. The loan players he has brought in could make the difference for us and could turn us from a relegation favourites team to a mid-table one, they’ve looked impressive so far.
Lee Camp has been a great purchase and has made more saves in the last 2 games that the previous 2 keeps we’ve had all season. He looks very good and I think will make a huge difference. Our last 2 games have seen us draw 1 and lose 1, so not too bad considering we were playing Charlton away and Brighton away. The game vs Brighton was a good one and a game that either side could have won, we created some great chances and deserved a point from the game if I’m being honest. Striker Jonson Clarke-Harris (my favourite player at the moment) came off the bench to put pressure on Brighton and make the game interesting towards the end.
Manager Steve Evans may make a couple of changes, mainly in attack, hopefully Matt Derbyshire will be dropped and Clarke-Harris will start.
The visitors, Cardiff City head into tomorrow's game in good form, they've won 3, drawn 1 and lost one in their last 5 games. They currently sit in 6th in the table and have a good chance for promotion this season. They won 3 games in a row vs some tough teams (Forest, Wolves and Huddersfield). However, their last fixture was a 2-0 defeat at home to Hull City, another promotion hopeful.
What strikes me about this game is the fact that Cardiff have played away 4 times this season (league and cup) and have conceded in every game. They don't look as solid when away from home. This and the fact that Rotherham have scored in all but 1 game this season (league and cup) is why I will be backing BTTS @ a price of 1.91 with William Hill. Cardiff have enough about them to trouble our defence, to be honest I'm never confident of a clean sheet of late and think we are missing a good centre back to command the battles. Alex Revell will return to the New York Stadium and may start and score against the Millers. He will get a good reception as he did a great job for us while he was there. Good Luck all.
