Rotherham vs Birmingham by Shibby
Championship action for me, you may have noticed I've not been in the best form lately, it's also bad for me as I've been backing these too. Took a little step back and started to get back to basics in hope of some winners for us all.The game will be one I'll be attending along with my son and father, so it will be a great day for me for many reasons, result aside.
The game will kick off at 15:00 and will be played at New York Stadium. The hosts head into the game after a very difficult time this week, there has been a lot of change at Rotherham with Neil Redfearn being sacked earlier this week and quickly being replaced with another Neil, in Neil Warnock. Neil Warnock does bring a wealth of experience from his time at several clubs, a lot of them have been in Yorkshire, so he knows the area and knows how dedicated the fans are. He has said that he has a lot to offer and I'm sure he will be wanting to keep Rotherham in the Championship with the remaining 16 games he has left to do so, that was the brief that he has been given by the Chairman.
He hasn't been in long, however, he did take training yesterday to get a sight of the players, I'm sure he will have an idea of the players available to him. Rotherham do have a lot of players out at the moment, however, they have enough quality available to be able to challenge Birmingham on home soil. With what has happened this week, the Rotherham fans will be full of noise and I expect that they will all be playing for their places this week, which will give them all a much needed boost!
Rotherham haven't won in their last 4 games, however, they have scored in 3 of them 4 games, I've said it before, we are always capable of getting goals, it's just our defensive play that needs some improvement. Which often highlights to me that there will be goals by either team when at the New York Stadium.
The visitors are in good form lately and find themselves in 8th place, just 3 points away from a play off place. They do head into today's game on the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to South Yorkshire side Sheffield Wednesday. Birmingham did take the lead, however, player of the month Gary Hooper fired Wednesday to another win which saw them move into the top 6.
I think Birmingham will be hard to beat today and I think we would take a point, however, I think with the off field changes at Rotherham this will spur us on to push for 3 points. Therefore, I see goals in this one at both ends. I'll be backing BTTS at a price of 1.77 with BetVictor. Good luck all.
