Rotherham United vs Bury by Shibby
League One action for me today, another game I will be attending. The game will be played at the New York Stadium, Rotherham and will kick off at 15:00 UK time.
The home side head into this off the back of a 1-0 win against Portsmouth at Fratton Park. This was the Millers first win away from home for 17 months! This was all a mental issue as some of our better performances have been away from home. There seems to be a buzz around the place after a very hard fought game vs Pompy. They played some good football and I think many people expect Pompy to be up there come the end of the season. They created a lot of chances against a changed Millers side, however, they just couldn't get the all important goal.
It was Jon Taylor who scored the winning goal, it was a beauty too, smashed the ball into the top corner from just inside the area at a tough angle. I think on another day this game could have ended 3-3 as there were some serious chances missed.
Rotherham have pretty much a full squad to choose from, they just have Jamie Proctor out injured as he had an operation on his knee last week after he twisted this vs Charlton on the 26th Aug. I expect Warne to make a few changes to the starting XI, I expect him to make the side more attacking at home as he often comments on how he wants his side to take the game to the opposition at home. I think now is the time for the Millers to get a run together and I do expect a Rotherham victory here. The way we have played at home recently has been good, even against Charlton, we lost 2-0, however, it could have been 8-2 as we missed some really good chances. I think we are due a game where chances are taken and there is a high scoreline. 12th in the table at present and I hope that a win here today will see Rotherham sneak up to a play off place.
The visitors are currently 19th in the table after just 1 win and 1 draw from their first 5 games. The win was a 1-0 victory at home to Walsall on the first game of the season, since then they have played really well, just not managed the results. 50% of their last 4 league games has seen over 4.5 goals, which they have been on the losing side twice for.
Bury do have a good manager in Clark and also have some Championship/Premiership quality players. They also have a few ex Rotherham players too, so I know the capabilities of them.
Today I think there will be goals, the weather is terrible today, it's cold and wet here in South Yorkshire and I think this could force mistakes from both sides. I'll be backing Over 2.5 goals @1.91 with BetFred. Good Luck all.
