Rostov vs Krylya Sovetov by Isaiah
On one hand, Rostov started the season in a great way, since the team reached the Champions League group stage and everyone is proud in the club regarding that achievement. However, the team paid the price in the domestic league, since they have opened the new season only with a 2-1-2 record and are now seeking improvement there.
They come from a 2:1 defeat away from home against Terek Grozni before the international break, in a game where the visiting team had every chance of walking away with something actually. They took the lead with an own goal in 31st minute, but then paid the price of lack of concentration and conceded two goals within next four minutes - remaining slithly more active during the match, but without really creating something more important, staying even with a man less in last twenty minutes of the game.
Home side should be playing in 3-5-2 formation with Bukharov and Azmoun as strikers. Central midfielder and team captain Aleksandru Gatcan (4/0) is suspended as he picked up his second red card of the season, while central defender Cesar Navas (4/0) remains doubtful, but should play. They were more than busy in last week of the transfer window, completing signing of Vladimir Granat, Miha Mevlja, Papa Gueye, Maksim Grigorjev, Dmitri Skopintsev and Andrei Prepelita. Defenders Novoseltsev and Margasov have left the club.
FK Krylya Sovetov Samara didn't have that worrying previous season, as the team finished quite safe being at ninth position in the end with nine points less than relegating worried teams, but it seems that their destiny will be much more difficult this season - at least that's what their start says.
After five rounds played, they have only two points earned which isn't that much of a trouble, but with only one goal scored so far out of five matches, everyone in the club is worried with this situation. In the most recent game, they suffered 0:1 home defeat against Ufa, with much more of the ball possession, but once again being close to harmless in attack.
Visitors will be playing in quite defensive with only one striker in 5-4-1 formation, Jahovic. Winger Yohan Mollo has returned to the club after being on loan to St Etienne, signing a new three years deal. They have also signs defender Margasov from Rostov and Zinko from Zenit.
- FC Rostov are undefeated in their last 19 home matches (Premier League).
- FC Rostov have kept a clean sheet in 8 of their last 9 home matches (Premier League).
- FC Rostov have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 3 matches against Krylya Sovetov Samara.
Rostov have made a setback in previous round and the team now needs to respond in the best possible way. They are now favorites and couldn't with for a better opponent than relegation struggling Krylia that is quite a weak side on the road for seasons.
