Romania vs Czech Republic (Women Handball) by 20Legend
Romania outplayed Hungary (21-29) during their last game which brings them up to four points with two games left to play in the main round. If Romania should be able to beat tonight’s opponent, a ticket to the semifinal is close than ever as only a draw against Denmark in the last game will be enough.
Czech Republic was underdogs by far, but only ended up loosing with two goals against Russia (24-26) in the last game. It was obvious that Russia did not have the same attitude they had agiasnt Norway in the game before, which resulted in inviting Czech Republic into the game. However, it could be a lot of good reasons for Russia to do what they did, as it is extremely tough to proceed from the main round.
A great factor could be to save energy towards the highly important game against Denmark later this evening. Czech Republic still has something to play for, although they have to beat both Romania tonight and Norway which is obviously easier said than done. The main reason to why they did not loose with a bigger margin to Russia, in addition to the Russians saving energy, was their own goalkeeper Satrapova who performed a 42 SV% which goes down as one of the best games in her career.
Romania is showing great form these days and should have a lot better team compared to Czech Republic. Another factor is that they have a lot of extra fans in Sweden which has helped them so far as well. It should come down to difference of class when these two teams meet and Romania should be able to control this right from the start. I expect Romania to cover a (-4) handicap tonight.
