Roma vs Real Madrid by Enzo
Seems that Roma is finally picking up some nice form which might help them a bit against Real Madrid in Champions League, at least in order to stay competitive before the second leg starts in Spain. Most recently, they come from a 3:1 victory away from home against Carpi last weekend. Game looked as balanced one at the start, but the visitors increased the pressure and dominated later on, getting a victory thanks to goals from Digne, Dzeko and Salah, all three scored in last thirty-five minutes of the clash.
It was fourth consecutive victory in Serie A for Roma, as the team climbed up to fourth position, being now only two points below third placed Fiorentina, position that will be getting direct ticket for Champions League group stage. Italian side should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Dzeko as number nine and with the help of Shaarawy, Perotti and Salah upfront. Central defenders Ezequiel Ponce (no performance anyway), Norbert Gyomber (6/0), right full back Vasilis Torosidis (11/0) and defensive midfielder Kevin Strootman (no appearance as well), are all ruled out due injuries. Their coach is also sweating over fitness of ohamed Salah, Kostas Manolas, Daniele De Rossi and Francesco Totti, as they all remain doubtful.
Real Madrid, on the other side, comes from their third straight victory in Spanish Primera, as they won over Athletic Bilbao 4:2 in front of own fans last Saturday evening. Ronaldo brought them into the lead already in third minute, but Eraso replied in tenth, however the hosts had great ending of the first halftime with two goals scored, via Rodriguez and Kroos. Ronaldo locked their victory three minutes before the final whistle, while Elustondo once again reduced the deficit in the last moments.
With this victory, Real continued their title race with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, being four points below Barca and a point below their city rivals, but having played a game more than Barcelona. As for Champions League, the team surely aims big finale at least, as they looked quite superior that their group rivals, ending the six rounds phase with five victories and a draw, thirteen points above third placed Shakhtar. Real Madrid should be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Ronaldo, Rodriguez and Benzema as forwards. Central defender Pepe (13/0), left full back Marcelo (20/2) and forward Gareth Bale (15/13) are all injured out. Dan Carvajal is expected to continue at the position of left full back in the absence of Marcelo.
Easy or hard, I expect Real Madrid to prevail here and almost secure their progress to the next stage. Roma was already lucky to progress the group stage and even though they are in a fine form at the moment, class difference is simply too big here, since the Italians are far away from a reliable side.
