Ried vs Wolfsberger by Gustav
Ried couldn't do much more last weekend when the team visited Sturm Graz and suffered only narrow 1:0 defeat against the side that showed the most so far in Bundesliga and stands at the first position. However, it must be said that the players of Sturm controlled the match from first till last moment, scoring the winning goal in 18th minute via Edomwonyi and making the players of Ried being very passive.
They tried to respond, but were limited to a lower amount of ball possession and only with some long shots tries. This defeat came after four consecutive matches without a loss, as the team has quite decent start in the season, holding the sixth position at the table with four victories, two draws and five defeats, being five points away from third placed Salzburg. Home side will miss forward Schubert (2/0), while doubtful remains forward Froschl (9/0) but with chances to play.
Wolfsberger, on the other side, is having a bit more difficult start in the season than what was expected. However, the team comes from a very good performance at home against Salzburg taking a point in a 2:2 draw. Guests were better, must be said, but the home team looked really determined with the ball to their feet and were very dangerous with counter attacks.
Players of Salzburg took the double lead thanks to goals from Lazaro in 45th and Soriano in 85th minute, but lack of concentration in last seven minutes of the match cost them a lot. Hosts managed to take the point thanks to goals from Huttenbrenner in 87th minute and Ynclan in third minute of additional time, being awarded for their fighting spirit towards the end of the game. Still, the team remains winless in last five rounds, being able to pick up points mostly in home matches, while they have only one point earned out of five matches on the road.
Visiting side will be missing defenders Standfest (11/0) and Palla (1/0), plus forward Topcagic (6/1). forward Trdina and defender Rosenberger are both out, but without playing this season at all.
Ried has showed much more so far in the season and are doing just fine in front of own crowd. Wolfsberger is having problems this season overall, but are especially looking weak on the road. I don't see plenty of chances for visiting side to remain undefeated here, while the odds are more than tempting.
