Rhein-Neckar vs Celje by 20Legend
Rhein Neckar Löwen started their Champion League season with a draw against Szeged (28-28) from Hungary three days ago. It was a close game where the teams consequently followed each other in what was a tough match, but also with a high will to counter-attack when the chance occurred. Rhein Neckar Löwen had the extra edge though and after trailing by one goal at halftime, they turned it around and lead by a goal when the final seconds started to tick. Szeged managed to score though which gave a point, but it was a strong one as it is a tough away game to handle. The German team must manage without Mads Larsen tonight as he struggles with an injury.
The Slovenian team Celje did also have a huge test in their first CL-game this season as their rival Zagreb (30-28) was beaten. Celje seemed really motivated to win this game which is not so strange as Zagreb beat them twice last season in this tournament. It was a game with high-tempo which is also the usual recipe once Celje is involved in games. However, Celje was actually the best team throughout the whole game as they used their well-known counter-attacks in the best way.
Rhein Neckar Löwen is known for their strong defensive play, while Celje is known for being deadly at counter-attacks. However, Celje has a defensive problem as they are constantly getting too many goals against them during their games. The Germans should be able to take advantage of that and I think that the game will open up if they do so. Celje has been involved in games over this line almost every time this season and I therefore find great value on such a low line tonight.
The match should be involving high-tempo and I expect several counter-attacks to happen in this game. Just looking at the recent history between these two teams concludes in the same way as all of the three meetings back in 2014 ended above tonight’s line. At least 54 goals to be scored will be my pick.
